Princely economic missions, a cooperation with many partners

July 12th, 2018

The Foreign Trade Agency organizes joint economic missions in cooperation with the regional export-promoting services. For all political and protocol aspects of the mission, it works together with Belgian Foreign Affairs. Recent trade missions were organized to Indonesia, Canada, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Texas, the Republic of Korea, Ivory Coast, Argentina and Uruguay.

Participants are Belgian companies from a broad range of sectors, ranging from SMEs to large players in the Belgian business sector.

A joint economic mission usually takes four to eight days. The program consists of an official section and an economic-commercial section. The latter mainly consists of B2B and B2G appointments. Seminars offer local players a look at specific Belgian knowhow. These conferences are also an opportunity to get to know the priorities of local authorities and their main projects. Network lunches, dinners, and receptions in the presence of HRH Princess Astrid, Representing His Majesty the King, and Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Pieter De Crem offer further opportunities for establishing new contacts. Heads of State, Ministers, top businessmen and other prominent people are frequent guests.
