Invited at FLINN Law Firm for a report on the State Visit to Canada

Monday, April 16th, 2018

This morning, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Pieter De Crem was guest of honor at an event organized by the Canadian-Qu├ębec Desk of the law firm FLINN in Brussels. Secretary of State De Crem discussed the recent State Visit to Canada and its important economic part. A special attention was of course accorded to CETA, the free trade agreement between Canada and the European Union.

Pieter De Crem emphasized the importance of free trade and the many opportunities that CETA offers to both Canadian and Belgian companies. Moreover, it is a strong signal from two close and historic partners that they resolutely opt for free trade at a time when protectionist tendencies are manifesting among some other trading partners. Secretary of State De Crem therefore urged those present to take full advantage of the momentum created by CETA and the State Visit to further strengthen the economies ties between our two countries.
