Meeting with Canadian Minister of International Trade

State Visit to Canada

On the first day of the State Visit to Canada, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Pieter De Crem had a meeting with his Canadian colleague, Minister of International Trade François-Philippe Champagne.

During the meeting, bilateral trade relations between Canada and Belgium were discussed, as well as the impact of emerging protectionism in joint partner countries, and the importance of the Free Trade Agreement between Canada and the European Union.

Canada and Belgium are historic partners and CETA will further strengthen the economic ties between our two countries.
