Launch of Belgian beers on the Canadian market

State Visit Canada

In the context of the State Visit to Canada, the Halve Maan brewery launched its beers Brugse Zot and Straffe Hendrik on the Canadian market. Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Pieter De Crem had the pleasure to uncork the first Brugse Zot in Ottawa.

The export of Belgian beers to Canada is made considerably easier by CETA, the free trade agreement between the European Union and Canada. CETA opens many new doors and creates numerous opportunities, and Secretary of State De Crem strongly encourages Belgian companies to take full advantage of this.

Brewery Halve Maan is one of the most innovative players in the sector and exports more than 40% of its production to 30 countries worldwide. These beers are a symbol of the unique quality the Belgian food sector in general has to offer.
