Bilateral visit to Vietnam

Visit of military hospital in Hanoi that works closely together with Belgian company IBA in fight against cancer

During his bilateral work visit to Vietnam, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Pieter De Crem visited the military hospital 108 in Hanoi. This is one of Vietnam’s five most important hospital centers and has been working for 10 years with the Belgian company IBA, developer and producer of cancer control solutions via particle accelerators and proton therapy.

The hospital treats both military personnel and citizens. The existing IBA project focuses on cancer diagnosis and was launched in 2007. It is currently being extended with a second project focusing on the treatment of cancer. The export of both projects was supported by Finexpo.
